Frankenstein loves Burger King!

I've got to visit this Burger King! It's located in Niagra Falls, Ontario right next door to "The House of Frankenstein", a year-round haunted attraction. When the fast food franchise went up on the corner, the House of Frankenstein people constructed a giant Whopper-lovin' monster that appears to be busting though the store's roof.

Damn those Canadians and their genius combinations of things I love!

John McCain as Frankenstein's monster

I don't mean to kick a man when he's down, and I promise that this is the last political posting I'll make, but I found these two terrific illustrations a while ago and forgot to do anything with them until now. One features John McCain being brought to life with Sarah "the Bride of Frankenstein" Palin standing nearby. The other piece shows the women of The View trying to kill the monster. Both illustrations are by the very talented Zina Saunders.

Anyone seen this before?

I bought this at an estate sale recently but I can't find out any information on its origin. It's obviously a mask. (There are holes on vinyl flaps at either side of the lenticular image where an elastic may have once been.) Probably a child's mask. (It's very small. Approx. 4.5" x 3.75"). Other than that though, I don't have any information about it. (There are no identifying markings printed anywhere). Any ideas? How old do you think it might be?

Saunders, the main artist for Wackys Packs from 1967-1976. This particular horror/Valentine's Day artwork was used for a set called "Frankenstein Stickers".

Inflatable decorations

I'll be the first to admit that I've never had much respect for inflatable Halloween decorations. I'd rather see a few well-carved pumpkins than a 6-foot-tall Scooby-Doo dressed as a witch. Creatable Inflatables has made me change my tune though. Their figures are much more impressive than anything you'll find at Party City. They carry 15 and 25-foot-tall witches, and a Frankenstein that measures a whopping 35 feet tall!

I'm sure that these inflatables are way too expensive for most residential decorators, but business owners may want to consider renting a 20-foot-tall grim reaper for the Halloween season. I'd certainly be more likely to patronize a business with one of these out front.
