Moving my monsters

It took a 17-foot-long U-Haul and more hours than I care to admit, but I was finally able to get all of my outdoor Halloween decorations safely to the new house. My new neighbors have no idea what they're in for.

Monsters from pipecleaners

They never let me make anything like this at summer camp! The people at Chenille Macabre offer "original hand-made monsters constructed from pipecleaners: werewolves, dragons, zombies, and who knows what else!"

Ugly stickers

Even before "Monster Initial" stickers hit the marketplace, there were "Ugly Stickers". From 1965 until 1976, Topps distributed a variety of stickers featuring gruesome monsters with common names.

Goodnight Goon

Tonight I read my son what is sure to become a new Halloween classic,

Skeleton Keys

A good friend just bought me a set of these glow in the dark skull caps for my keys. (I'm currently using the blue one.) They're made by a company called Fred & Friends. They offer the "Ultimate in style. Stuff that works, puts a smile on your face and doesn't cost a fortune." Be sure to also check out their "FreaKeys". They're pretty cool too.

Monster Alphabet

After I posted a link to some Halloween fonts on Friday, one of my readers brought The Alphabet Of Monsters to my attention. Don't bother teaching your kids that "A is for Apple" and "B is for Ball". Print out these graphics and teach them that "A is for Alien," "B is for Blob," "C is for Chupacabra," "D is for...", well, you get the idea.

UPDATE:
It seems as though this alphabet is also available on t-shirts and in a book.
