I saw this tree while driving through Pennsylvania this weekend. It's a real tree (still rooted to the ground) that has been hollowed out and carved. They even had some lights set up inside to make the face glow at night.

Great tree
I discovered this haunt while reading Pumpkinrot's blog. It's a perfect example of how a large yard isn't required to create a memorable display. And check out his amazing tree! He created it using 10 cans of Great Stuff foam and some aluminum window screening.

More paper-mache madness
For my money, one of the finest prop builders around has to be Krough at GrimVisions. What he does with paper-mache is amazing! Check out the three trees that he has created for his yard haunt. You can see a tortured, writhing soul in the trunk of each one. Click here for complete instructions on how to build one of these props for your own display.
