Robot cupcakes

These robot cupcakes look great. I'd like to see someone use this concept for cupcakes emblazon with scary characters or skeletons though.

Gummi anatomy
Artist Jason Freeny interprets what Gummi Bears and balloon dogs would look like if they had internal organs and a skeletal structure.

Horror movie trio
Proving that even horror movie villains were once kids, Chris Lee painted this trio of jump-roping killers.

A talented couple
Now the question is, did they both like painting skulls and ghosts before they got married, or is that a more recent development?

Have a T-Rex bust through your roof

Not quite as bit as the witch I hoist up onto my roof each year, but this T-Rex is pretty cool. Any my favorite part? It's relatively small and light, meaning storage and installation should be a snap.
Click here for instructions on how to build one of your own.

Voodoo knifeblock
Designed by Raffael Iannello, this knife block would be perfect on any horror fan's kitchen counter.
UPDATE: A reader just brought this other knife block to my attention. Similar, but less gory.

Photo for a haunted house
Right after this photo was taken, those two marionettes came to life and ate her! (Photo by Frank DeBlase)

The Mouth House
Here's my neighbor's Halloween display. He attaches the face to the front of his house each year, shines a couple of spotlights on it, and he's done. No fog machines. No spiderwebs on the bushes. Just the face. Nice and simple. I love it!

Vintage Halloween masks
What a great idea! The people at CSA IMages have taken high quality photos of inexpensive masks against brightly colored backgrounds. They look beautiful!

Goodnight Goon
Tonight I read my son what is sure to become a new Halloween classic,
"Goodnight Goon". This parody of Margaret Wise Brown's best-selling "Goodnight Moon" includes "a skull and a shoe and a pot full of goo. And a hairy old werewolf who was hollering 'Boo'."

Giant skeleton balloon
I just picked this item up at one of my favorite vintage toy stores in NYC, Alphaville. The balloon dates back to the 60's. Love those graphics!

Pumpkinrot corpse
I just received this amazing custom-built corpse from everyone's favorite haunt artist PumpkinRot. Look at the detail he put into it. It's gorgeous! Right now it's the centerpiece on my dining room table. I wonder how long past Halloween I'll be allowed to keep it there...

My display

I spend so much time shooting my yard haunt from the front that I rarely think to show what it looks like from the back. Here's a rare "behind the scenes" glimpse at my display.

X-ray of skull stab
This is a horrible story! The 5 inch blade went in above his eye, through his brain, and then out his ear!!! I can't believe he's still alive.
That said though, WHAT A COOL X-RAY!!! Do you think they'll let him keep a copy?
Skull FLOR Tiles
Just released today... The FLOR tile company now makes modular, interlocking tiles emblazzon with skulls.

Disco Skulls
I found this great image on the "Home Of The Skulls" website. Unfortunately (for anyone who would want to own such a thing) it seems as though this "di-SKULL ball" is a work of art and not available for purchase. Luckily though, anyone truly desperate to do the hustle underneath a spinning skull can settle for this infinitely less cool version.

Freddy Krueger "Spitballs"
I just found this old "Nightmare On Elm Street" toy in my attic. Still unopened. Where did it come from? I have absolutely no recollection of it. Why didn't I open it? Wasn't I tempted to try it back in 1989? After all, "The harder you squeeze, the further the spit."
**UPDATE: It looks like there were also Jason Voorhees "Spitballs". Here's
a guy who not only has both sets, but he has reviewed their individual spitting abilities.

His art definitely makes me a bit more nervous about walking into any dark forests at night.
