This is one of my favorite columns in Time Out. Each week, they find a piece of junk on the street and turn it into something amazing. This transformation (from January 2007) is particularly amazing though.

Haunted houses in miniature

After writing the other day about miniature chairs worthy of any haunted house, I discovered this site that creates a wide variety of haunted furnishings and foods. (Including "eyeball salad, relish tray with eyeballs, celery, tomatoes and lemons; finger tacos; finger-fruit pie and fresh brains. Wash it down with Bloody Marys and a glass of Ruby Eyeball Wine."

Spiderweb chair

Mrs. Bones and I are in the market for a new chair. I thought I'd found the perfect one when I discovered this photo online. You can imagine my disappointment when I learned that it's just a one inch scale dollhouse chair. (Maybe that explains why it's only $9.50.) Oh well.

Skeleton chair

I have an unhealthy obsession with unusual chairs. There are way too many of them in my home. Barber's chair in the living room, theatre seats in the tv room, airplane seats (vintage Pan Am first class) in my son's room, etc. Mrs. Bones has told me that I'm not allowed to purchase any more chairs until I get rid of some. That's why I get anxious when I find awesome new chairs like this one by Terry Rathje. The idea that I could merge my love of chairs with my love of things haunt-related is too much to bear. It's practically guilding the lily.
