Linnea Quigley - "Scream Queen"
I have no idea where this photo of "Scream Queen" Linnea Quigley came from, but the monster staring at her chest is hilarious. (For the uncensored, NSFW version, click here)

Chocolate Death
In the 1990s, Shanabrook, who spent his youth working at a chocolate factory, went to morgues in Russia and the US and made molds from the fatal wounds of anonymous people, cast dark chocolate pieces, placing them into luxury chocolate boxes. The series of works, which Shanabrook described as "very close to the edge, the forbidden place for artists," are essentially representations of death or what one critic called "bonbons of mortality."
Click here for more photos of these disquieting confections.

Halloween and beer, continued
After reading Tuesday's Heineken Halloween post, "McScary" sent me this devilish Guinness ad. (How the Guinness folks ever got that photo of me relaxing in the comfort of my own home remains a mystery.)

Well, there's good news and there's bad news...
My friend and neighbor Henry does a wonderful Halloween display each year. I've always dreamed that the 15 of so houses located between his and mine would join in on the decorating and our simple suburban block would become the Halloween epicenter of the world! (I dream big.) Well, sadly it doesn't look like that dream will ever become a reality because Henry is moving away.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that he was generous enough to bequeath me EVERY PROP FROM HIS YARD HAUNT!! It took four carloads this weekend, but I finally managed to get everything back to my house.
Here's the final take:
-8 amazing tombstones
-1 giant obelisk
-A nine foot tall Grim Reaper (with scythe)
-1 demon dog house (with bloody bowl, giant chain and red glowing eyes)
-3 fog machines (and fog fluid)
-1 fog chiller
-Dozens and dozens of "wooden" planks to cover up our windows
-2 blacklights and assorted spotlights
-Various light-up skulls and bones
-Decayed wooden fencing
Though I am incredibly excited to have all this great new stuff, I would be lying if I didn't admit that I would be even more excited to have him stick around and continue using these props in his own yard. There's something really great about having a like minded person haunting their home close by and I'm going to miss that. Our neighborhood and town will certainly be poorer once he's gone.
Here are a few shots of his display from years past...

Wasting away again in Zombaritaville
The folks at Zombaritaville rewrite popular songs as zombie tunes. Turning Bob Dylan's "Blowing In The Wind" into "Rippin' Off Your Skin" and Prince's "Nothing Compares To You" into "Nobody Tastes Like You".
"Nobody Tastes Like You"
It's been severed limbs and eaten brains
Since you took my life away
I hunt humans every night and creep all day
Since you took my life away
Since I been dead I slaughter whoever I want
I consumed whomever I slew
The hospital is like a fancy restaraunt
But no one
I said no one is easier to chew
`Cause nobody tastes
Nobody tastes like you
I been so hungry thinkin' 'bout your ears
It's what keeps makin' this old corpse moan
Nothing can stop arterial spray from flowing
All over us once that throat is torn
I could sink my teeth into every boy I see
Spread infection everywhere I spew
Got caught by some humans, guess what they told me
Guess what they told me
They said U better fight in this pit
Whoever's thrown in there with you
Bite, claw and chew
`Cause nobody tastes
Nobody tastes like you
All the folks you killed n' infected
When you ate their brains
All rose up and walked away
You know that feeding without you gets twice as hard
Let's go killing and make everybody die
Nobody tastes
Nobody tastes like you
Nobody tastes
Nobody tastes like you
Nobody tastes
Nobody tastes like you

Ice-Cream Horned Skull Dog!
Not really sure what to say about this image. (On second thought, I do... the name of my posting, "Ice-Cream Horned Skull Dog" soungs like a badly translated Japanese film title. Boo-yah! I've still got it!)

Here's Lady Gaga's homage to 1950s monster movies (from September's issue of Out magazine.) The invisible man never looked so good!

I (Heart) this shirt
This is a fun t-shirt. I might like it better if it said something other than "realism". What do you think? "Anatomy"?
"Hearts"? "Organs"?
"Autopsies"?
