13 Haunted Mansion tombstones

Here is a collection of Haunted Mansion tombstone photos. Each one includes information on who the stone's epitaph is dedicated to. For instance, in this "Dear Departed Brother Dave" example, it's in honor of Imagineer Dave Burkhart who "began his career with Disney in 1967 serving as an artist model maker, building architecture and show models, including some full scale sets and props. He subsequently became a show designer and field art producer, working on attractions such as the Haunted Mansion, Swiss Family Treehouse and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

In the news...

Some people are too easily offended. This small-town political candidate used his opponents' names on tombstones in his Halloween display. People have apparently been freaking out over this in Sylvania, Ohio. Personally, I don't think it's particularly clever, but I also don't find it offensive. (I do, however, think it's funny that last year, this guy's wife painted the tombstones with the names of his ex-girlfriends.)

We have a vacancy

Vacancy tombstone glowing red amongst the other headstones in the cemetary

After seeing this terrific image posted on Pumpkinrot's blog, I started wondering how many other "Vacancy" tombstones were out there. I felt certain I could find pictures of dozens more. Surprisingly though, I was only able to come up with an additional eight. (If you have photos of any others, please send them my way and I'll update the collage to include them as well.)a collage of eight different Vacancy headstones

Bleeding tombstone

What a great idea! I've never seen a bleeding tombstone before. The folks at Mourning Cemetery did a wonderful job building this.
