By Walter Martin and Paloma Muñoz. "We cast ourselves as candles in a mixture of beeswax and parafine with a wick running through the center from head to feet. We lit the candles at the beginning of our show in PPOW Gallery and we let the candles burn and run their course throughout the exhibition. Our candle bodies slowly melted away for the duration of the show."

A look inside Turf One's head
All paintings should include a hinged face that opens to reveal a skull. Sadly, this is the only painting by Turf One that does that. Oh well.

More from Heather Cox

Here are more pieces by artist Heather Cox. The first four are part of her "Nonpareil Project" in which "20x24 inch resealable poly bags are hand-sewn with nylon thread and filled with nonpareils (candy sprinkles)". The second piece is "5 Cookie Cutters" made out of galvanized steel and shaped like parts of the human body.

All I want for Christmas is... Pumpkinrot
I'm already the proud owner of one Pumpkinrot groundbreaker. I wouldn't mind adding another to the collection though. (Christmas is fast approaching, after all.)

Google turns up the darndest things
When you search for the word "Halloween" on Google Images often enough, you end up seeing some really unusual things. Here's one in particular that grabbed me. Unfortunately, there was no real description attached, so I can't tell you why these young women thought carving pumpkins nude was a good idea. (I also can't tell you what the woman in the middle is supposed to be dressed as. I mean, I get the "nude woman with knife through head" costume on the left, and "devil nude" on the right, but "nude nude" in the middle? Doesn't make any sense.(Click here for the highly NSFW uncensored version of this shot)

Monster Christmas stockings
Christmas is right around the corner. Wouldn't one of these stockings look great hanging from your mantel?

Ventriloquist dummy collection
A couple of thoughts on this collection...1) I'm pretty sure those figures come alive at night and kill people.
2) Strange that the clown figure looks so much more menacing than the skeleton figure.
